Cruise recap from Coral Princess sea day while cruising in Glacier National Park.

Coral Princess – #FollowmeatSea Day 7

Today is day 7 of our Alaska cruise tour which started on land and will finish on the sea.

The mantra for the day is “glaciers advance, glaciers retreat.”

Today it is all about Glacier Bay.  The Coral Princess delivers us to this famous land.  Glacier Bay is a magical place that brings out our inner-naturalist (think John Muir.) The Park Rangers board the Coral Princess at Bartlett Cove.  The entire day is spent cruising slowly through mountains of ice and snow.  Who knows, there are a lot of animals out there, maybe we will see some.

Cruise Better:  Splurge and get the pass for the Sanctuary.

Solitude seekers will be able to escape completely to this plush, outdoor spa-inspired setting offering the best location for Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve.

“Serenity Stewards” Attend to every need. The presence of Serenity Stewards in The Sanctuary underscores the atmosphere of tranquility and service, offering a respite for total glacier viewing. These stewards are on hand to provide passengers with everything from a chilled face towel and Evian water atomizers, to a menu of healthy beverages and fare. Serenity Stewards will also have personal MP3 players with noise canceling headphones available, loaded with themed playlists focused on relaxation for those who want to escape with music.

Cruise Better: Treat yourself to the Glacier Bay Champagne Breakfast.

A special champagne breakfast menu has been developed especially for balcony stateroom service, available one day only aboard all ships that sail on Princess’ Gulf of Alaska route. The Glacier Bay balcony breakfast includes a chilled half bottle of champagne, accompanied by a basket of warm homemade pastries, fresh wild forest berries with creme fraiche, smoked Copper River Salmon with lingonberry cream cheese and toasted lemon boula bread, and Alaskan crab and potato quiche with marinated tomato and fontina cheese gratin. This unique breakfast option may be ordered for a $25 charge.

No matter what version of the Glacier Bay experience you choose, it is a day to behold.

Thanks to Princess Cruises for hosting me on this wonderful cruise.
