World Ocean’s Day – A Celebration of the Sea

World Oceans Day 2018

Happy World Oceans Day

World Oceans Day has been celebrated unofficially since its original proposal in 1992 by Canada’s International Centre for Ocean Development and the Ocean Institute of Canada.

This is a good time to celebrate the sea and acknowledge the efforts that some cruise lines are taking to help steward the sea. From new engine design innovations to maximize efficiency to Hurtigruten’s ban on single-use plastic by this summer, the cruise industry is trying to do their share.

Norwegian Bliss

Norwegian Bliss’s hull was painted by Wyland and the piece is called “Cruising with the Whales.”

The quote from Wyland in his Laguna Beach gallery says, “One person can make a difference … Be that person.”
