Oceania Cruises Culinary Studio at Sea

Culinary Studio @ Sea

While larger than her consorts Regatta, Insignia and Nautica, Marina remains comfortably mid-size, adroitly utilizing the additional space for even greater amenities. She rewards guests with our signature “finest cuisine at sea” in six restaurants, including two new gourmet venues — Jacques and Red Ginger. Her new Yacht Club holds enlightening wine and food pairings. For special coffees and snacks, there is Biscottos Coffee Bar. The new Bon Appétit Culinary Center offers hands-on cooking instruction under the guidance of master chefs. Similarly, artists-in-residence teach fine arts in The Studio, a new enrichment center. Intimate lounges abound. Accommodations in every category are incredibly spacious, especially with regard to the lavish bathrooms.

A partnership with Bon Appetit magazine will enable the cruise line to ride the cruise industry trend to provide unique enrichment programs to guests.  The culinary studio is set to debut in winter 2010.

The culinary studio will enable passengers to gain hands-on cooking experience at the side of master chefs. Passengers will have their own work stations, including individual induction cooktops.

The program is desinged to allow passengers unique opportunities to  accompany chefs on shoreside shopping excursions, they may also participate in private wine tastings or visits to well-known shoreside kitchens.

Calling the Marina a ship for food lovers, Oceania said it would have 10 dining venues, including six open-seating gourmet restaurants.

Oceania unveiled one of those restaurants, Red Ginger, at its press event in New York on Thursday. With seating for 126, Red Ginger will feature Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese cuisine.

Guests will have the choice of a five-course tasting menu or the restaurant’s a la carte dishes. The menu will include traditional fare and fusion dishes.

Passengers won’t be assessed a supplement or surcharge to dine at Red Ginger, Oceania said.
