The journey begins: 9-day adventure on Silversea Cruises
Setting sail October 29, 2012 from Barcelona, Spain to Las Palmas, Canary Islands, Spain.
I am preparing form my journey to meet my floating home that will transport me through the Spanish coastline, Morocco and the Canary Islands. After a brief pre-cruise stay in Barcelona, I will embark Silversea Cruises Silver Spirit for 9-nights. Ports of call include stops in Malaga, Cadiz, Casablanca, and three stops in the Canary Islands.
I am very excited about the Silversea Cruises Silver Shore excursions I have lined up for this trip. I will be visiting The Alhambra, explore sherry-country in Jerez, go to cooking school in Morocco, and ride my first dromedary.
I am very excited to explore the beautiful Silver Spirit
Meeting my butler, exploring the ship, experiencing Le Champagne, Silversea’s Relais & Châteaux-inspired restaurant, and dining at Seishin, which features Asian fusion cuisine are on my list of shipboard must-dos. I am hoping that the sommelier will have some new wines for me to try.
Silversea is an industry leader when it comes to pampering, in my opinion.
It is hard to beat the level of service, quality, and standard when it comes to luxury cruising. I can’t wait to learn about the region and to return home at the end of a port day to relax.
Pre-Cruise Barcelona
Spending the night before the cruise is going to allow me enough time to venture to popular sites such as taking a stroll on La Rambla, checking out Gaudí’s architecture at the Sagrada Familia, or visiting the sites made for the 1992 Olympic Games.
This will be the second time I visit Barcelona. This time, I have opted to overnight before the cruise. I am excited to get to visit some of the areas that I missed the first go-around. Have you been to Barcelona? What should I do? Leave me a comment.
Post-Cruise, Madrid
Because of flight schedules an overnight in Spain’s capital is required. I arrive in Madrid from Las Palmas, Canary Islands just in time to experience the city’s famous nightlife before heading home on a 15-hour journey back to California.
