Upgraded suite on Azamara Quest
Photos of Azamara Club Cruises’ newly reimagined suite.
Last week while cruising on Azamara Quest I had an opportunity to see a prototype of one of the newly “reimagined” suite on Azamara Quest.
As luck would have it I managed to get a personal tour of newly refreshed suite conducted by Larry Pimentel, President & CEO Azamara Club Cruises. The motive behind the upgrades is best summed up on the cruise line’s website:
With guest satisfaction feedback consistently averaging at nearly 100% and countless industry and peer recognitions from around the world, Azamara sets the bar for delivering a destination-immersive experience to all of our guests who #LoveTravel. And now, it’s time to make sure our two award-winning ships raise the bar even further. – from AzamaraClubCruises.com.
The major enhancements to the ships will reflect the brand’s destination immersive cruise philosophy. The interior designs reflect the brand’s desire to “bring the organic essence of Destination Immersion onboard.” The color palette, furniture, fixtures, and electrical upgrades (lighted mirror in lavatory, lighted closest, new reading lights and USB outlets on both sides of the bed) are both functional and refined, while establishing a modern feel.
Newly revitalized: Azamara Quest Club Continent Suite 8061
The upgrades on Azamara Quest and Azamara Journey draw their inspiration from the four elements of nature: Earth, Water, Air and Fire. The inspiration behind the interior design upgrades to the suite I toured created a sense of place with subtle references to the lands, rivers, and beaches that the boutique cruise line visits.

Design details: Celebrating the Earth
The overall color palette reflects the rich tones found on the shore, in a celebration of the the Earth. This move is inspired by the notion that cruising on Azamara Club Cruises is very connected to the places the ships visit. In addition to the design details that callout specific “earth” tones, the design plan will also pay homage to Water, Air, and Fire elements.
More “reimagining” on the horizon
Plans call for a blend of contemporary and classic designs in newly created venues and public spaces that include:
- New spa suites that honor the water element. These suites will feature rain showers with ocean views, double vanities, and outdoor Jacuzzi tubs overlooking the sea.
- Open-air venues that offer unique experiences including an outdoor Pool Grill & Bar where guests can watch sunsets (fire) before enjoying some newly revitalized entertainment areas.
Upgrades to every stateroom and suite, in addition to restaurants and a new holistic Sanctum Spa are all on the design plan.
Azamara Journey will enter drydock in January 2016 in the Bahamas, and Azamara Quest in April 2016 in Singapore.
