Crystal Symphony Extreme Makeover

Crystal President, Gregg Michel sitting down for the first time on a couch in the newly refurbished Palm Court onboard Crystal Symphony – lucky for me I was onsite in Los Angeles to capture the look of satisfaction. After completing a couple remodels myself, I know what a good feeling it is to see the successful completion of a refurbishment project.

Workers from Germany’s Blohm + Voss shipyard worked around the clock for 15 days to complete the redesign of Crystal Cruises Avenue Saloon, Palm Court lounge, Galaxy showroom, Hollywood Theatre, Bridge Lounge, and Fantasia and Waves “junior cruisers” areas.

Palm Court – Before

Crystal Symphony has completed a $15 million dollar refurbishment. Of the seven areas that got a remodel, perhaps Palm Court’s transformation is the most dramatic.

Palm Court – After

The interior design team from KNA revamped Palm Court’s panoramic lounge, which is used for high tea, dancing, cocktail parties, and drinks. The sleek, contemporary transformation takes advantage of sweeping ocean views via floor-to-ceiling windows, while keeping emblematic room elements like palms and wicker.

In addition to a new entrance, the bar and dance areas expand with added seating and a larger, spiral-design dance floor with overhead ceiling feature. Conversation tables; laser-cut marble flooring and carpet; lit, alabaster urns; and a studded nail and leather wall design offset the chartreuse, aqua, grey, and ivory color spectrum that plays throughout the all-new sofas and chairs.
