Game on! Crystal Cruises Super Bowl Party
Luxury cruise line goes the extra mile by bringing the biggest U.S. game of the year to the ships.
Due to international broadcasting regulations, watching your favorite sports event while on a cruise vacation is not a sure bet. However, passengers sailing on Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony will definitely have a front row seat for today’s Super Bowl since luxury cruise line Crystal Cruises was able to secure the secured the rights to air Super Bowl XLVII live on board its ships.
Although the Crystal Cruises ships are in Peru and New Zealand today, cruise guests will be treated to viewing parties on the big-screen, with everything included (complimentary, of course).
The cruise line will hold their Super Bowl parties in the Stardust and Starlite Clubs, which the line says “will be decorated in themed, Six Star style.” The cruise line will also air the game in the ships’ surround-sound Hollywood Theater or passengers can watch in the comfort of their own stateroom, with complimentary room service.
“At Crystal, we strive to make our ships a luxurious home-away-from-home for guests wherever they are in the world,” says Thomas Mazloum, senior vice president operations. “Of course we would go the extra mile to not only bring them the biggest U.S. game of the year, but also throw a great party for it, even if we’re on the far ends of the earth.”
Kicking it up a notch
Cruise passengers will have a chance to participate in a football pool while munching on traditional American football fare like: hot dogs, chicken wings, and beer (check out what is on my Super Bowl menu here). To celebrate the location of the big game (New Orleans’s), the kitchen will prepare creole shrimp and New Orleans pecan fudge.
