It’s Monday (when I am writing this), that means I need some cruise inspiration to get me through the week.

If you could take one storybook trip, where would it be?
Although the deadline for the Expedia #Storybook contest is over, I wanted to make my own dream trip entry just for fun.
Although the bucket is half-way empty from the many trips I have taken these past few years, I still have a couple of amazing places to explore. I believe that Crystal Cruises has my dream trip: It’s theirt Temples & Safaris voyage V305.

To be able to rock Cape Town is a dream come true. To explore the eclectic mix of architectural styles that are reflected in the Edwardian and Victorian buildings would be divine. Feeling the hot sun on my skin while wiping away the dust scattered from Table Mountain would be so cool.
I also would love to be able to check out the food and what South African cuisine was all about. For sure, I would want to have my “Bourdain” moment: eating something a little funky from a street cart or hidden restaurant off the beaten path.
But I digress. While checking out first-hand how the Dutch has left their mark on the area (as well as learning about the people, history and culture), I will have teleported myself far away from the urban concrete jungle I call home.
I can imagine walking around the cobble-stoned streets of the Malay Quarter checking out the city’s cosmopolitan ambiance. Nearby, I can smell the sea from from the 1800s-era restored Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Is it true, is Cape Town the “Mother City” of South Africa?

As far as the cruise, you will note that the itinerary overnights in Cape Town before disembarking guests, which means that the journey just continues because the cruise ship has delivered me to a place where I can now explore by foot for part II of the trip of a lifetime and that is where Expedia #Storybook comes in because winning that prize would allow me to go on safari to see the big animals.
