Rundown of popular desserts found on cruise ships.

While researching dessert facts for #cruisechat, I discovered some great signature items from the cruise lines. Instead of me hoarding the information, I decided to share it with you.

Carnival Cruise Line’s signature dessert is called “Warm Chocolate Melting Cake.”  Recipe follows below.

Disney Cruise Line has their Chocolate souffle, a signature dessert served at the adults-only specialtuy restaruant called  Palo.

Guests sailing on Holland America Line will sample desserts created by Master Chef Rudi Sodamin, one popular dessert cited is bread pudding.

Not to be missed on Norwegian Cruise Line ships with Le Bistro specialty French cuisine restarutants, is the signature dessert, chocolate fondue.

Regent Seven Seas has many signature dishes. One popular item is the Tahitian vanilla crème brûlée with candied strawberries, and vanilla ice cream.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line has a wide variety of options. The flourless truffle-like  “Royal Chocolate Cake” is popular.

Carnival Cruise Line’s Wildly Popular  Warm Chocolate Melting Cake

  • 8 oz semisweet chocolate
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 7 eggs, divided use
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Melt chocolate and butter; cool 10 minutes.
In separate bowl, mix four eggs with sugar. Whisk.
Add flour and whisk.
Add remaining three eggs.
Add egg mixture to chocolate mixture.
Pour in individual ramekins.
Bake until just done, about 15-20 minutes (interior will be melting).

Serve with vanilla ice cream.
