Cruise Biz Buzz
A glance about what this week’s top stories are in the social media sphere.
Overview
Posts, dispatches, updates, and tweets from Europe top the cruise lines’ social networks.
From the UK there was a lot of buzz around the Diamond Jubilee, marking the 60th anniversary of The Queen’s Coronation. And for some of us avid cruisers, when we think about the British Monarchy it usually reminds us of Cunard Line and its Three Queens. In case you did not know, Cunard Line is hosting a dignified blowout in honor of the Jubilee next week from the Port of Southampton where three Cunard Line Queens will be together on June 5th, a first for the line.
At approximately 18:20 on June 5, the Red Arrows will display over Marchwood Channel to mark the Diamond Jubilee & Three Cunard Queens. — CruiseSouthampton (@CruiseSoton) June 2, 2012
In other cruise line news posted via the cruise lines’ social networks (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Pinterest), there was a Carnival Breeze Twitter party, and a little incident that caused P&O Cruises to use Facebook and Twitter to alert passengers of itinerary changes caused by a pilot strike in Norway.

Well done P&O Cruises. Keeping passengers and travel professionals continuously updated about itinerary changes was the right thing to do and based on the comments on the P&O Facebook page, I think the fans agreed.
Uniworld’s President & CEO Guy Young arrived in in Hanoi with the Uniworld sales team to experience the company’s Mekong River cruise product. I will be watching the Uniworld Facebook page and Twitter feed for updates. (All this talk about river cruising reminds me of River Cruise Advisor- rumor is that that site is getting a makeover.)

I can’t wait to see what she will look like after her work. I was completely gobsmacked with Crystal Serenity when I caught up with her in the Port of Los Angeles earlier this year. If you missed the photos from my photo shoot, you can click here.

Who knew places like this existed? For a California-girl, this waterway in Burgundy looks almost like a ride at Disneyland.
