Good Eats on Azamara Club Cruises in Greece
There is no shortage of great food to be had in Greece.
If you judge a country by the quality of its food then Greece would get the highest marks, in my book. Ingredients are fresh, locally sourced and simple but the tastes are amazing. My favorite dish is the Greek Salad but there are also a lot of other dishes competing for top ranking.
Locally sourced ingredients
In Mykonos, indulge on seafood at a local waterfront cafe in Little Venice. When I was there I saw “Petros Pelican,” the island’s mascot and I had an amazing Greek Salad and Sophia had Salmon pasta.
Local market – fresh ingredients
We happened to see Azamara Journey’s Executive Chef Monica and Xavier out in the market while calling on Chania, Crete. She was procuring some fresh fish for the grill to serve guests. It was fun to see her interact with the sales people while getting the best ingredients from the local market.
It’s all about the olive
Olives take center stage in Greek cuisine. We had a chance to explore an olive oil factory while calling on Chania, Crete.
