Princess Cruises Sea Day Alaska

Farewell

As the saying goes, all good cruises must come to an end.  However before this fantastic cruisetour on the Coral Princess ends, we have a full sea day.  Captain Mariano Manfuso will continue on a southerly course.  Some of the navigational landmarks we will encounter are: Queen Charlotte Strait, Johnstone Strait, Seymour Narrows, Strait of Georgia, Lions Gate Bridge, and Vancouver Harbour.

Some of the fun-filled activities to choose from today include:

On-Deck for the Cure – Meet fellow cruisers to help raise funds for the is the innovative fundraising initiative founded by Holland America Line in 2006 and now involves four additional Carnival Corporation & plc brands – Carnival Cruise Lines, Seabourn Cruise Line, Costa Cruises, and Princess Cruises.  On Deck for the Cure has raised more than $2.7 million for the fight against breast cancer through fundraisers on dozens of the brands’ ships, with guests making a donation benefiting Komen for the Cure and participating in five-kilometer walks and other activities on the vessels’ open decks. The cruise lines will donate 75 percent of each registration fee to Komen for the Cure, with a minimum guaranteed donation of $260,000.

Culinary Demonstration – Executive Chef Thomas Ulrich, Maitre d’Hotel Giuseppe Gelmini and Cruise Director Billy will talk about the culinary options onboard and then take the group on a tour of the ship’s galley.

Last call for the Lotus Spa – The extensive spa facilities onboard Coral Princess include sauna, steam rooms, and a thermal suite.  A communal relaxation center, the thermal suite offers different grottos and chambers that release a variety of dry heat, steam and mists into the air with aromatherapy filled vapors.  Spa goers can relax on a warm stone bed designed to make the pressures of life melt away.  Use of the thermal suite is included in spa treatments, and daily and weekly passes are also available.

Traditional English Pub Lunch – On select sea days, the Coral Princess offers this alternative dining option.  The  Bayou Café is transformed into an authentic English-style pub, serving a selection of traditional fare. A menu of British favorites, including bangers & mash, fish & chips, ploughman’s lunch and cottage pie, will complement a selection of traditional pub brews such as Boddingtons, Guinness, or Strongbow Cider. Pub lunch meal service is free of charge and will run from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Afternoon Tea — All ships offer Princess’ trademark British-style afternoon tea daily, complete with tablecloths, gleaming Samovars, easy listening music in the background, and tea boxes for herbal and specialty teas.  Passengers can enjoy freshly prepared finger sandwiches, cookies, biscuits and cakes served by white-gloved waiters in smart, formal attire.

Computers@Sea – A day of Adobe instruction with James Westmoreland available for a fee of $25 per class.
Scholarship@Sea – Special interest lecture wtih Murray Lunberg will present “Native Cultures of Alaska.”
Towel Folding – Stateroom Stewards display their talents in this demonstration that shows how to make towel animals.

Our Twitter cruise group will join one last time for dinner. Princess Cruises has been the Consummate Host and for that I am sincerely grateful
