Shipyard visit reveals new photos of Royal Princess

Shipyard visit via Twitter

Today, Princess Cruises will tour the shipyard with a small group of  media and bloggers to check on the construction progress of Royal Princess. Of course, I would have jumped at the chance to put on a construction hat and walk around the shipyard. But, not everyone can be invited to the party.

But, because of social media and Twitter, those of us left behind (34,775 Twitter followers and 1,094,985 Facebook fans) can follow along in real-time. Although it’s not exactly the same thing, I am really enjoying seeing all the photos and updates from the live shipyard tour of the new 3,600-passenger Royal Princess cruise ship set to debut in June 2013. You too can keep up with the buzz by following along the #RoyalPrincess hashtag.

Royal Princess is going to be Princess Cruises’ largest ship, which will usher in a new-generation. As I have reported previously, there are many signature features (click here to review) in addition to some new innovations. Royal Princess will be the largest ship in the Princess fleet, sailing her inaugural season in Europe with a series of Mediterranean cruises before coming to the U.S. for 7-day Caribbean itinerary from Ft. Lauderdale.
