Gap Cruise: The new right of passage?
Some high school graduates take a Gap year (or two) between graduation and the start of college, or after graduating from university. But in the case of my 18-year daughter Sophia we will be taking a Gap cruise on Azamara Journey.
Sophia and I will embark Azamara Journey in Athens on June 23rd. This cruise is the perfect venue to introduce the recent graduate to Europe. With more time in port, we can have the best of both worlds: pampering onboard and enough time to explore port towns in Greece, Croatia, Montenegro, and Italy.
Sophia’s last cruise with me was on the Cruise4Haiti fundraiser. She is extremely excited to explore the beaches of Greece and to experience life like a local in ports like Santorini, Dubrovnik, and Kotor. In fact, a shore excursion to Olympia is on our to-do list, which is fitting since this is an Olympic year. Besides visiting iconic cultural landmarks, we will spend time in port enjoying the music, food, and conversations with locals.
I am excited for Sophia to experience the Azamara Difference onboard. She will no doubt appreciate the attentive and friendly service of the staff and crew.
