Rail Transportation

The trains between London Waterloo and Southampton take about 90 minutes.

  • Direct Train Service is available on South West Railways from London Waterloo to Southampton Central Station.
  • The Pier terminal is approximately 15 minutes by taxi from the Southampton train station.
  • Approximate cost for taxi from Southampton Central Station to the port is $18.00. Cruise passengers can expect to pay around $65 for the train fare.

Top attractions, not to be missed:

  • Fans of architecture should not miss Tudor House and Westgate Hall formerly known as Tudor Merchants Hall or The Medieval Merchant’s House, built in 1290 by trader John Fortin, is a restored home of a prosperous trader.
  • Remains of medieval times can be found at the Bargate monument, which is 800 years old.
  • Active cruise visitors  can easily walk around  Old Town or along the  QE2 Mile.
