Trade, an elegant and airy restaurant and
cocktail bar

Anchoring the lobby of Hotel Republic and welcoming patrons upon arrival is Trade, an elegant and airy 57-seat restaurant and cocktail bar offering a selection of daily dining options including lunch, happy hour, and dinner. Trade aims to celebrate San Diego’s unique gastronomic identity—influenced by the city’s abundance of local farms, easy access to fresh fish and crustaceans from the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez, and proximity to Mexico.

The Buzz – Hotel Republic Review

I had a chance to stay at Hotel Republic for one night while visiting the city to research activities, attractions, and hotels for cruise visitors calling on San Diego. Most cruise visitors that fly to the city will most likely want to add a pre or post stay to the city to extend the vacation fun. I stayed in a corner room (1014), which had plenty of space.  The views of the city were spectacular and the proximity to the harbor, where I rode a bike that I rented from the hotel, is a couple blocks away. However, if you have your cruise luggage, then I suggest a ride share or a taxi (it’s not that close to walk with all your suitcases).

The brand is going for an “unpretentious but prestigious” vibe, which I could see. Although the property was only a couple days into their launch when I visited, the staff and operations were seamless.

Coastal chic is the trend that Hotel Republic San Diego, Autograph Collection is going for, and I think they nailed it.
