Social Media Cruise News Oct. 16. 2012

October 16, 2012 was a busy day online. After all it was a Travel Tuesday and that is always my busiest day for engagement. I think what sent my tweets into overload was the addition of #FSJet chat, which lured me into tweeting about what my travel colleague Rachelle Lucas should do on her around the world journey sponsored by Four Seasons Magazine.

I just saw that the Godmothers of Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Breakaway are in store for a makeover from my favorite people from Project Runway. I am sure they will “make it work.”

Countdown to Princess Cruises’ newest ship

The folks at Princess Cruises posted a construction photo of Royal Princess, their newest ship joining the fleet in June 2013.  I am looking forward to the cruise buzz on this ship. While I wait, check out some other Princess Cruises news here.

In high school and college I studied Mandarin Chinese. So when I saw Viking River Cruises newest YouTube video about Chinese calligraphy, I knew it deserved top spot in the Cruise Biz Buzz roundup. Besides my attempt of learning how to dip my brush and write some characters, I do love Chinese river cruising. Take a look  as Coralle Gao, master calligrapher, demonstrates the ancient Chinese art.

Other than these few posts, I am going to call it a day. A look at the Twitter stream of my favorite cruise lines shows me that very few cruise lines participated in today’s chats on Twitter. That is a little unusual. Perhaps everyone was in a meeting…

In the meantime, I am busy getting ready for my big trip to Spain, Morocco, and the Canaries via Silversea Cruises. I am getting my foreign currency, and planning my shore excursions. If you have any ideas about how to survive my first ride on a dromedary let me know.
