Set Sail: Princess Cruises Getaways
West Coast cruises making cruise buzz
Finally, those of us California avid cruisers have something to get excited about (after all we have lost a lot of ships due to low demand). The 3 or 4-day cruise getaways offered by Princess Cruises are the ticket for those looking to get back on the water to experience all that cruising has to offer like great service, numerous activities, enrichment programs, or peace and quiet.
Golden Princess sets sail from Los Angeles on the first of a new series of Princess Cruises Getaway voyages. Princess Cruises Getaways are 3-to-4-day short vacations sailing around the California Coast. Because the ship is required to call on a foreign port, both itineraries will stop in Ensenada, Mexico. The 3-day itinerary will call on Catalina and the 4-day itinerary will anchor off the coast in Santa Barbara.
What is a Princess Cruises Getaway?
A Princess Cruises Getaway is a short cruises designed to offer cruise passengers a chance to experience the ship. For example, Golden Princess usually sails the 15-day roundtrip Los Angeles to Hawaii cruise itinerary. Cruise passengers who don’t have that amount of time or desire to cruise to Hawaii have very limited options for finding an alternate cruise for Los Angeles. However, the new Princess Cruises Getaways are a nice way for cruisers to experience Golden Princess and the Princess Cruises brand within a shorter time frame.

Why is this unique?
A lot of cruise passengers in the Los Angeles and Orange County markets have already sailed on the year-round 3-or-4-day cruise products offered by the competition. Princess Cruises offers a totally different experience and it is one that I would recommend. Signature features like the Lotus Spa, The Sanctuary, the Piazza, and Movies Under the Stars are some of the features worth trying.
I actually have two people from my house that will be escorting a group cruise on Monday’s sailing. I am looking forward to their dispatch from the ship.
