Princess Chef Table a Big Hit

Cruise Holidays has learned that Princess has received top honors at Seatrade Insider Awards. In a press release to the travel industry, Princess announced this achievement.

USA TODAY featured the unique dining event, the Chef’s Table, in recent weeks as Gene Sloan reported live from Princess. The concept looks really fun and for the most part bloggers said they would consider it. Although some bloggers bashed it.

An industry first, the Chef’s Table experience offers a select group of gourmets the rare opportunity to be welcomed into the inner sanctum of the ship’s galley to enjoy a full evening of memorable sights, tastes and conversation hosted by the executive chef. Designed as a unique treat for “foodies,” the popular event debuted in 2007 aboard Emerald Princess as an unusual culinary experience that goes well beyond the usual galley tours held during the quiet off-hours.
Chef’s Table diners not only go behind the scenes to get an insider’s view of the dynamic action during the height of dinner preparation, they also enjoy champagne and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a lavish, multi-course tasting dinner paired with selected wines at a special table in the dining room. Specially created at the chef’s choice, the menu is not offered anywhere else on the ship. Diners enjoy interaction with the chef throughout the dinner as it is served at their private table. This special experience is now available across most of the Princess fleet, and is limited to 10 diners for $75 per person, including wines.
