Family travel packing tips for a cruise

Surviving travel day with kids: packing tips for family vacation

Ten must take items for kids going on a cruise

My family on the way to Florida

Plan ahead to ensure a fun travel day getting to the ship.
  1. Notarized letter from non-traveling parent authorizing foreign travel with a minor if both parents are not cruising with the child. If possible have the non-cruising parent help at check-in to answer questions at embarkation.
  2. Pack a day bag with all paperwork. A change of clothes. Swimsuit. Valuables. Medicine.
  3. Antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer.
  4. Small toys, a couple of books.
  5. One fancy outfit for formal night and a formal family portrait .
  6. Handheld game player and charger.
  7. For smaller children, bring some favorite snack items that your child eats everyday (goldfish crackers or a  treat.)
  8. A favorite DVD (if your cabin has a player.)
  9. A good attitude.
  10. Plenty of patience.
