Thank you Holland America Line for posting about the Day of the Seafarer June 25, 2012. I too want to acknowledge the contributions that all seafarers make to international trade and the world community. Also making the roundup in this edition of Cruise Biz Buzz was a lively Twitter conversation about Alaska and a port destination feature from Avid Cruiser’s YouTube channel about Venice, Italy.

Also catching my eye, was a Facebook post from the SeaDream Yacht Club Facebook page.
What intrigues me about this photo is the fact that Captain Terje and Club Director Jeff lead the bike ride. How unique would it be to cycle with the captain? I wonder if I would make it to the destination like the guests in the photo? Knowing that the captain of the ship was in the pelaton might give me the added motivation to push onward to Naoussa on the North side of the Greek Island of Paros.

Alaska was the topic of the #CruiseChat Twitter Party this week. There were a lot of great Alaska travel tips, cruise itineraries to consider, and compelling reasons why Alaska is a favorite cruise destination.
