Having been to Dubrovnik now three times, I can say that it is definitely one port not to miss.  Hopefully, when you go you will not have to deal with extreme heat and overcrowded streets, which are highly likely if visiting in the peak season.  One of my favorite cities ever to visit. Walk the wall around Old Town (early) and take the lift up the mountain for a selfie (or a panoramic photo of the city).

For those looking to get off the beaten path head to the nearby island of Lokrum. You can kayak there with a tour or better yet, take a ferry and in 10-minutes you will be ready to explore the little island.

Lokrun is a great diversion for those visiting Dubrovnik.
