I am totally pumped! I could not be more happy for guests who will be cruising on the newly Reimagined Azamara! (Get details here: When I discovered that Azamara Journey and Quest are scheduled for refurbishment beginning in 2016 I immediately thought “it’s about time.”

I am a big fan of the two sister-ships and after the refurb, I will be able to refer to them as “the total package.”

Although I am mostly concerned with exceptional service, attentive staff, and unique itineraries, I did feel like Quest could use a little makeover when I sailed on her last year (read about it here Aegean discovery: Istanbul to Athens). But there are limitations to a ship her size and the public spaces were well appointed and any shortcomings were shadowed by the impeccable service and extraordinary feeling like you were part of the family. But now the two sisters will undergo an extensive dry dock that will modernize the fleet and for those that appreciate impeccable interior design and stylish decor, there will be much to celebrate.

Azamara Journey will enter drydock in January 2016 in the Bahamas, and the Azamara Quest in April 2016 in Singapore
