Celebrity Cruises Increased Resources to Meet Bookings Growth

Double-digit Bookings Growth, Among other Key Performance Indicators, Prompts Promotions and New Hires

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 4, 2014) — With Celebrity Cruises’ enhanced marketing efforts in the Southern California marketplace, which resulted in more than 25 percent bookings growth and increasing brand presence by 26 percent in 2013, the award-winning cruise line has increased resources deployed in the Southern California market for 2014.

Scott Clifton, director of sales for the Western Region, states, “As a result of this tremendous growth, we couldn’t be happier to announce the promotions and additions to the Celebrity family. With the greatest number of sailings from Los Angeles this year, in addition to our existing San Diego departures and Celebrity Solstice sailing out of her Seattle base; we look forward to introducing our growing number of travel partners and their clients to Celebrity’s Modern Luxury style of cruising.”

This also is a great time for Celebrity Cruises’ employees, both tenured and new, as the company was awarded a winner in the The Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ Awards for 2013 that recognizes top employers that display leadership and innovation in engaging their workplaces.

The area’s sizeable expansion of the Southern California team now includes eight local representatives. Of note are the following promotions and team additions:

  • Marilys Ward has been promoted to Los Angeles Team Manager. Ward will lead a team of 7 Southern California based sales and marketing professionals as part of Celebrity Cruises Southern California strategy.  She has spent the past four years as District Sales Manager for Celebrity Cruises covering the Orange County and San Diego markets.  Ward brings to her new position extensive experience in the travel industry.
  • Jansen B. Lagman has been named District Sales Manager for Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, Ventura and Santa Barbara.  Lagman joins the Celebrity Cruises team after spending the past ten years with Princess Cruises in sales management roles of increasing responsibility.  Most recently, Lagman held the position ofBusiness Development Manager covering the Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley,Ventura County and Santa Barbara area.
  • Jaymie De Los Reyes has been promoted to the newly created position of Event and Sales Support Specialist, for the Los Angeles Market.  Reyes’ strong project management and logistical planning expertise, as well as extensive experience working internationally in European, Asian, and Australian markets, has prepared her for this exciting new role.
