Cruise with us on Liberty of the Seas

Monday – Day At Sea

The Cruise4Haiti group spent most of the first sea day on Liberty of the Seas getting ready for our visits to three orphanages later this week.

I was most impressed hearing group members give their story. So many people in our group are first-time cruisers with many years of volunteer and service work experience.  Effecting positive changes in communities around the world is a consistent goal from most of the group members. Sustainable tourism and using resources in travel to help communities thrive is a topic for further conversation.

It has been determined that we will do a “benefit concert” later this week. Hopefully we can gain some supporters that want to help our group. Getting the word out about Airline Ambassadors is one of my missions this week.

Morning workshops talking about volunteer vacations, service work, and social media start the day.

Afternoons are spent getting ready to deliver donated gift bags to kids we visit in St. Maarten, Puerto Rico and Haiti.

The group is using the sea days to get ready to bring the holidays to kids in Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, and Haiti

  • Craft Activity – Card Making: Make cards for the kids at the For Haiti With Love orphanage. There are 50 girls at this orphanage and we will be making several personalized Christmas cards for each child to go with the gift bags we will be assembling tomorrow. In addition, we will be making cards for the 33 children at the St. Maarten Orphanage.

The glorious sea. Sunny skies and moderate seas.

Bon Voyage Party for the Cruise 4 Haiti, Saturday Nov. 13 in Miami

Airline Ambassadors is hosting a great kick off for the Cruise4Haiti

The Voluncruise Team of Sophia and Carrie from Cruise Buzz

Enjoy Haitian cuisine, music, art and more!

What a great event to kick off the Cruise4Haiti and to celebrate the work of Airline Ambassadors.

King WaWa, Nancy Rivard from Airline Ambassadors and two supporters

Nancy Rivard, President of Airline Ambassadors hosted the event which honored their work in Haiti and all the people that have pitched-in to make Haiti outreach a success.

Award winning artist, Daggi Wallace, opened  her show of original paintings at the event. Daggi created portraits of 30 orphaned children from Haiti. She incorporated the kids’ own drawings as a background for her artwork, highlighting the children’s personal stories, hopes and dreams. Funds raised from the sale of these paintings go directly back to help the children pictured in her work. You may preview the portraits on the artist’s website.
