San Diego Cruise Port Activity Review

For cruise visitors looking to learn more about San Diego Bay, then book a harbor cruise on Hornblower. See the sea lions as well as San Diego landmarks and historical sites on a harbor cruise.

The Hornblower ticket booth is located close to the cruise ship pier (near the Midway Museum) which is a quick walk away or maybe for some added fun, splurge on a pedicab.

If you are planning on taking a harbor cruise over the weekend, then make the reservation in advance to avoid disappointment. There are a couple of options available, the most likely one for cruise visitors is the harbor cruise, which can be booked for either a one or two-hour adventure.

A Hornblower cruise of  San Diego harbor skirts along the waterfront near the cruise ship terminal on Harbor Blvd. Depending on your tour (available for Sunday Brunch, dinner cruises, sightseeing excursions, whale watching and private events) you will either go out toward Point Loma or travel past the Coronado Bridge, the Navy Seals Training Base and ships of the Pacific Fleet.

Some things to know about logistics.

Don’t get confused and go to the wrong location. The dinner cruise boat is much larger and docks at the opposite side of the waterfront from the day cruise vessels. Plan ahead and make sure to read the ticket, which has valuable information about your boarding location.  You need to check in at the ticket kiosk to get a boarding pass before embarking onto the yacht. Once onboard, introduce yourself to the Host/Hostess, and they will show you to your table. Be sure to get a confirmation number at the time of booking.
