Cruising from the Port of Hamburg
Cruise visitors sailing from the Port of Hamburg will find Germany’s second largest city easy to navigate with plenty of attractions. Since Hamburg is a harbor city, there will be plenty of attractions near the water in addition to a city that has a lot of historical and cultural sights.
The Hamburg airport is about 25 minutes from the Cruise Center.

What’s to do in Hamburg?
If time permits plan to spend some time walking around the city exploring some of the sights. Hamburg is a town built around water so a lot of the attractions are within easy walking distance of the river. The public transportation system is easy to use.

Other options:
- Visit an open-air market dating back to 1703 with a visit to the fish market (Hamburger Fischmarkt). Housed in the century-old Fish Auction Hall, lucky cruise visitors in port on Sundays will be privy to a live show when vendors try to sell their goods.
- The Hamburg Elbe riverfront is perfect for walking about. Check out the Speicherstadt (meaning “Storehouse City”) is a collection of century old warehouses built on the harbor. Start your tour at the Speicherstadt Museum, a ten minute walk from http://www.speicherstadtmuseum.de/
- St. Michaelis Church – the city’s landmark. A baroque church, which was built between 1648-1661.
- Shopping at Alsterarkaden, which is located within a historic arcade-like structure, is known for it’s architecture as well as shops.
