San Francisco’s new James R. Herman Cruise Terminal
The Port of San Francisco is developing a primary cruise terminal at Pier 27 to replace the existing facility at Pier 35.
Cruise visitors sailing into our out of the Port of San Francisco, California will have a new port terminal very soon. Currently passengers use Pier 35 located on The Embarcadero, San Francisco’s famous waterfront. (www.sfgov.org/sfport). At present, passengers enter from the Embarcadero into a small lobby where security checks take place. The new building will have more room for passengers to proceed with embarkation and debarkation procedures.

34th America’s Cup in San Francisco
Exciting news for cruise visitors who love the sport of sailing. Located very close to the cruise ship pier is America’s Cup Park at Piers 27/29 on the Embarcadero. If you are cruising to/fom San Francisco, you might be able to see 72-foot wing-sail catamarans from Golden Gate Yacht Club defend their America’s Cup title. Insider Tips: Getting around San Francisco
Cruise visitors can get a San Francisco CityPASS, which includes unlimited transportation on all Muni trolleys, buses and historic cable cars. Think about pre-purchasing these passes in advance to avoid lines. Although there is no good way to avoid the lines for Cable Cars, the Muni, buses and trolleys have great availability and are very convenient.
